Troubles with Verizon, but finally in the new space!
Well, we are finally moved into the new office space. We originally planned to be in here on July 1, but Verizon really did a number on us. In New York City and the surrounding boroughs, all phone connections must go through Verizon. So, while you may use another company as your long distance or DSL supplier, they are actually delivering service to you over Verizon's infrastructure. In our lovely new neighborhood, cable is not yet available and Verizon is the only option.
While I am actually kind of sick of the subject of my friends over at Verizon, I would like to add my complaint to the thousands out there about their service and delivery. I am writing this on August 18, 6 weeks after we were originally promised DSL. We were on the phone with Verizon's customer service serveral times begging for activation. Promises were made, technicians were sent and still no service. In fact, twice our order was mysteriously cancelled!
I am now happy to be functioning and even happier to be in the new office, but I promise you that the moment cable becomes available in this building, I will switch over. It kills me to be giving Verizon my money. I don't think they realize or care about the impact they can have on small businesses like mine. My advice - avoid Verizon if at all possible.
