The BBC taped a 40 minute panel discussion at the United Nations focusing on the Millennium Development Goals. Zeynab Badawi hosted this "BBC World Debate" with the participation of the Secretary-General, President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia, President Michelle Bachelet of Chile, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg of Norway, Bill Gates of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Salil Shetty of the Millennium Campaign. It was a very spirited and focused conversation on the need for better government, more resources and decisive action to achieve the MDGs in the time left.
